Welcome! Shaza here
Curious about me? Okay…
I live in semi-rural Shropshire with my soulmate, imaginary characters, and an outdoor space blessed with wildlife visitors. My passions include gardening, research, travel, walking, anything scientific, food, people, and of course, writing.
Having a background in cooking and food technical management, I developed various skills in writing over the years. I learned recipe creation; designing work procedures; writing schedules, reports, food safety and quality manuals, food product and website copy, due diligence documentation, and training programmes. Even so, for a period in my life, I wrote a lot of emotion down in private, mainly poetry and poetic prose. It was a healing re-introduction to storytelling and my inner child. Let’s fast-forward to now.
How can I help you?
After leaving the food industry, I studied creative writing with the Open University. In 2008 while seeking other writers, I discovered Swanwick, The Writers’ Summer School, and haven’t looked back since. It’s a lively conference every August where budding and seasoned authors share knowledge, successes and vital support to each other. My continuous connection with this vibrant community is enlightening, fulfilling, and always great fun.
Yet, I yearned to belong with my writing chums and not feel like an intruder. I even served on the committee, but something was missing – I wished to help my fellow authors in a nurturing way, but how?
Lightbulb moment… Why not blog about our eloquent craft from my own perspective (along with fellow thought-leader friends), and share it all with you? Now there’s a fun challenge.
Creating this website has fed me a rapid learning spike and whipped away my comfort blanket, yet, I’ve cherished every moment. Phew! My writing desk creaked as the chaos of clutter faded and Creative Narrative took shape.
I simply wish to share my discoveries with you…
Hopefully, you will find answers to your writing craft questions on this website, fulfilling your wants and needs. Enjoy.
